A very warm welcome to our school. We are very pleased to have you and your child join our school community.
On this page you will find lots of starter information to help a smooth transition into Alwyn.
If your child is starting school for the first time and joining our Reception classes in Little Alwyn, we understand this can be an exciting but anxious time. Our fabulous school team are here to support you and your child to ensure a successful start to their school learning journery.

There are some things you can do to help your child prepare and to be school ready. Have a look at our handy poster to see the sorts of things your child should be able to do before starting.​

We also host a introductory evening for our new Reception parents each summer. Have a look at the latest one as well as an introduction to our classes.
If your child has already begun their school journey and are moving from a different setting, we also have some class booklets to help with the school move.
We encourage healthy eating habits and a balanced diet. All of our children are offered fruit or vegetables for a morning snack as part of the Governement Scheme.
We encourage our children to take up the offer of a funded hot school dinner cooked in our own school kitchens. The menu choices are yummy!
if you would prefer to provide your child with a packed lunch, please avoid any nut based products or sweets and try to keep it healthy. Here are some ideas to help.
We also have a milk scheme in school.

The safety of our children is incredibly important to us. The school adults will get to know you as parents/carers very quickly and we hand children over to you individually at the end of the school day. If any one is allowed to collect your child please let us know by email or complete the collection form.
